Buying a Home in SoCal: Offer Prep

Buying a home is a HUGE purchase — probably the biggest purchase of your life, until you buy your next home. Whether you’re a first time home buyer or this is your 4th home purchase, these videos will help you get a better understanding of what you’re signing!

Here are videos that will guide you through the Residential Purchase Agreement — the contract that is used for all California home purchases with the exception of new constructions and a few other odd ball cases.

1. First things first, you need to understand what terms you are working with. This video will explain the contingencies that are standard with each offer and why they are important. (3 mins)

2. In the actual offer agreement, there are disclosures and advisories for buyers to review. They are typically sent with the offer package to the listing agent. This video will give you a brief overview of those documents. (3 mins)

3. Now to the actual RPA — Part 1. This video reviews the first pages of the RPA, the most important pages. (5 mins)

4. Here’s the last part of the offer agreement. When you’re done with this video, you’re ready to start putting in offers! (5 mins)

Lastly, and also very important: if you’re going to submit an offer, I recommend including a Buyer Letter with the offer. They don’t always get shared with the seller because of the new CAR rules, but in the case the sellers would like to read it, I recommend it.
